Individual Groups:
Rooted in Worship & Prayer
"Seeks to monitor and review patterns of worship at St Marys, so as to ensure that the broadest possible cross-section of people are enabled to worship there. This group also seek to identify ways in which all members of the congregation might be encouraged to develop and deepen their personal prayer life in appropriate ways".

| Flower
Rota Flowers arranged in church are an act of worship in themselves. Week by week members of the congregation provide and arrange the flowers on a rota system. Special anniversaries can be commemorated by special request and we would welcome anyone who would like to join the rota. |
| Home
Communion The holy sacrament is perpetually reserved for all those wishing to take communion at home. |
| Intercessors Each of us can strive to use our talents, skills and prayers week by week to lead the intercessions at the family worship in the Eucharist. Volunteers to lead the prayers, or suggestions for those who should be remembered in our prayers are always welcome. |
| Music Choir: The singing at Sunday Service and other special occasions is usually led by the choir which consists of boys and men. The choir is affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music and rehearses twice a week. If there are any girls wanting to join a choir, they should contact Gill Evans about St Mary's Singers. Our organist and master of choristers, Paul Allen writes: Some of our choristers will be receiving ribbons in January to reward
and acknowledge their progress: My annual recruitment campaign will start in February with visits
to the local schools. If members of the congregation know any boys
(or men) who may want to join the choir please give them one of our
recruitment leaflets or ask them to contact me.
St Mary's Singers: A group of mixed voices
which often sings at special services, to complement the choir.

| Daily
Prayers 9.30am Morning, and 5.00pm Evening Prayers - Have you thought about what happens to the church during the week? Yes, the building can be used between Monday and Saturday. Jesus said that "His House should be a house of prayer". One way that this is reflected is that the Clergy try to meet each weekday morning at 9.30a.m, or weekday evening at 5.00pm. to say Daily Prayers. Why not join them? This will serve a dual purpose. It will provide support for our clergy whilst also providing us with a useful discipline within our prayer life; there is the opportunity to read and reflect upon the Scriptures. What better way to start the day than praying for the world and for our parish? Our troubled world needs all the help it can get. Parish Prayers, Wednesday 9.40am - Please note this service currently takes place at:- SALEM UNITED REFORMED CHURCH. |
